Calvary Sonrise has been blessed with a great location right on the southwest corner of Tyee Drive and Benson Road in beautiful Point Roberts, WA.  We welcome you to come worship the Lord with us, whether you are a vacationer here for just a short time or a full-time resident of Point Roberts.  You'll feel welcomed and right at home.

Our Leadership Team

It started with a simple stop for fuel.
While working in the Lower Mainland, Nate Peterson often came down to Point Roberts to fish for salmon and fill up at the Shell station. One day, he noticed a sign outside inviting people to a weekly Bible study. Curious, he stepped inside—and found more than just a group of believers. He found the love of God, fellowship, and a call on his life.
Whenever work brought him near, Nate returned to join the study and connect with the growing community. Then, after a specific answer to prayer by his wife Chelsea, the Petersons sensed the Lord leading them to make Point Roberts their home. In faith, they moved with their children, trusting that God had a purpose for their presence here.
Through the challenges of the pandemic, the Lord sustained both the church and the Peterson family. Nate led worship under the head pastorship of Chuck and Tia Laird, and together they built relationships with neighbors—sharing in trials, joys, and the steady grace of God. The fellowship remained a place of encouragement and truth, even in uncertain times.
In 2024, Pastor Chuck and his wife Tia temporarily relocated out of state, entrusting the care of the church to Nate and Chelsea. Shortly thereafter, Nate was ordained by Pastor Chuck, affirming the calling already evident in his life and leadership.​
Today, by God’s grace, the little church on the corner of Tyee continues to be a place to worship, study the Word, and enjoy genuine fellowship. Whether you’re a longtime believer, new to faith, or simply curious,       we welcome you!
